Message from ASA
Hello ASA Families! 💛🐾

Morning Safety & Arrival Procedures

At Allegiance STEAM Academy, student safety is our top priority—especially during morning drop-off. Please remind your students that they must wait for a signal from a crossing supervisor before crossing the street. For their safety, do not encourage your child to cross without staff permission, even if they are running late. Crossing staff are actively managing traffic and will signal when it is safe to cross. We are also seeing an increasing number of students who are exiting and entering their vehicles in the middle of the street. This is extremely dangerous and unnecessary. A tardy slip is not as important as your child's safety. Please pull over to the curb so that your students may enter and exit your vehicle safely.

Also, please note that the front gate closes promptly at 8:00 AM to ensure a secure start to the school day. If your student arrives after the gate has closed, a parent or guardian must walk them to the front office and sign them in. This helps us ensure all students are safely accounted for.

Thank you for your continued partnership in creating a safe and smooth start to every school day for our Wolves!

Warmly,
Ms. Holt

🌟 Social-Emotional Learning Focus of the Week: Communication 🌟

This week, our Wolves are focusing on communication — the ability to share thoughts, feelings, and needs clearly and respectfully while also listening to understand others. Students are learning that strong communication includes using kind words, appropriate tone, active listening, and respectful body language. When children communicate effectively, they build stronger relationships, resolve conflicts more peacefully, and feel confident advocating for themselves.🐺💛

We encourage you to continue this conversation at home! Here are a few reflection questions to spark meaningful dialogue:
  • What does good communication look and sound like?
  • How can listening help solve problems or misunderstandings?
  • When is it important to speak up for yourself in a respectful way?

🌈 Respect-Building Activities for Home

1. Family Check-In Circle (All Ages)
Take turns sharing one high and one low from the day while others listen without interrupting. This builds trust, empathy, and listening skills.
2. “I Feel” Statements Practice (TK–6th)
Help your child practice using statements like, “I feel ___ when ___ because ___.” This supports emotional awareness and respectful expression.
3. Nonverbal Communication Game (All Ages)
Play charades or act out emotions using only facial expressions and body language. Discuss how communication includes more than just words.
4. Listening Challenge (Upper Grades)
Have your child summarize what someone else said before responding. This reinforces active listening and thoughtful responses.
Practicing communication at home supports our Wolves in building confidence, empathy, and healthy relationships. 💛🐺⭐
