Message from ASA
Hello ASA Families! πŸ’›πŸΎ

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students. When students arrive at school on time, they begin their day feeling calm, confident, and ready to learn. Punctuality helps maximize instructional time and sets a positive tone for the entire day. We truly appreciate your efforts in helping students arrive on time each morningβ€”every minute truly counts!

We also hope our middle school students who attended the school dance had a fantastic time. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, impressive dance moves, and positive energy as students came together to celebrate and have fun. Events like these help build strong connections and create lasting memories.

As a friendly reminder, there will be no school this Thursday or Friday due to scheduled staff in-service days. Please note that our Lost and Found items will be donated on Wednesday the 28th, so be sure to check for any missing belongings before then. We look forward to welcoming students back after the break, refreshed and ready to learn. Thank you for your ongoing support and for being such an important part of our school community.

Warmly,
Ms. Holt

🌟 Social-Emotional Learning Focus of the Week: Physical Activity & the Brain🌟

This week, our Wolves are learning about the powerful connection between physical activity and brain health. Students are discovering how movement helps improve focus, reduce stress, boost mood, and support learning. Physical activity increases blood flow to the brain, helping children think more clearly, regulate emotions, and feel energized throughout the day. πŸ§ πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ

Helping children understand how movement supports their brain encourages healthy habits and lifelong wellness.

Reflection questions to discuss at home:
  • How does your body feel after you move or exercise?
  • Why do you think movement helps your brain learn better?
  • What kinds of movement help you feel calm, focused, or happy?

🌈 Movement & Brain Activities for Home

1. Brain Break Moves (All Ages)
Take short movement breaksβ€”stretching, jumping jacks, dancing, or yogaβ€”to reset focus and energy.
2. Family Movement Time (All Ages)
Go for a walk, ride bikes, play a game, or dance together. This builds healthy routines and family connection.
3. Mindful Movement (TK–6th)
Try slow stretches or breathing with movement to help calm the body and brain before bedtime.
4. Move & Learn Challenge (Upper Grades)
Pair movement with learningβ€”quiz questions during a walk or practicing spelling while tossing a ball.
Encouraging regular movement helps our Wolves build strong brains, healthy bodies, and positive emotional well-being. πŸ’›πŸΊβ
