Message from ASA
Hello ASA Families! 💛🐾

Thank you to all of our families who came out to support our second graders in their Seussical musical performance. Our students did an amazing job and we are so proud of their hard work and enthusiasm—what a fantastic show! Another huge thank you goes out to our volunteers and especially our teachers for making the show magical.

As a friendly reminder, there will be no school on Monday, the 9th, in observance of Lincoln’s Birthday. We honor Abraham Lincoln for his leadership during one of the most challenging times in our nation’s history and for his commitment to unity, freedom, and equality.

This week will be a busy and exciting one as we look forward to our fourth- and fifth-grade performances. We can’t wait to see all the time, effort, and dedication our students have put into their shows shine on stage.

Lastly, please don’t forget to attend our upcoming Regular Board Meeting virtually or in person on our Fontana Campus. There will also be a PACK Meeting. this week in the Den.

We value your continued involvement and support. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community!

Warmly,
Ms. Holt

Student-Led Celebrations are Coming Next Week: What to Expect

At Allegiance STEAM Academy, we believe students grow most when they are empowered to reflect on their learning, share their progress, and take ownership of their academic journey. That’s the heart of our Student-Led Celebrations (SLCs).

Student-Led Celebrations are intentionally different from traditional Parent-Teacher Conferences. During SLCs, students take the lead—guiding their families through work samples, projects, or portfolios and reflecting on their learning, growth, and goals.

Please make sure that you are checking your teachers news letters to sign up for your students SLC! It will be next week 2/18-2/19.

Play Your Way Through Art!

We’re excited to announce our upcoming Art Contest and Expo, giving students the opportunity to showcase their creativity! This year’s theme is “Play Your Way,” and the contest is proudly presented in partnership with the LA County Fair. Students are encouraged to express what play, creativity, and imagination mean to them through their artwork.
Students who are interested in submitting their artwork to be considered for the LA County Fair must complete the interest form by February 12.

All contest artwork is due to Mr. Guillén (room 28) or Ms. Okamoto (Room 33) no later than February 27 and should be turned in directly to him in his classroom.

We can’t wait to see how our students play their way through art!

🌟 Social-Emotional Learning Focus of the Week: Anxiety🌟

This week, our Wolves are learning about anxiety — what it is, how it can show up in our thoughts and bodies, and ways to respond with understanding and self-compassion. Students are learning that anxiety is a common feeling and does not mean something is “wrong.” By naming anxious feelings and using calming strategies, children can build confidence and learn that they are capable of facing worries one step at a time. 🤍🐺⭐
Reflection Questions for Home:
  • What thoughts or feelings show up when you feel worried?
  • How does anxiety feel in your body?
  • What helps you feel safe and supported when you’re anxious?

🌈 Anxiety Support Activities for Home

1.Name the Worry
Encourage your child to name or draw their worry to help make it feel more manageable. 6.

2.Grounding with the 5 Senses
Identify something you can see, hear, feel, smell, and taste.

3.Teaching and modeling reassurance
Create a calming phrase like, “I can handle this,” or “I am safe.”

Supporting anxiety awareness helps our Wolves build confidence and emotional safety. 💛🐺⭐
