Message from ASA
Hello ASA Families! 💛🐾

As we prepare for state testing next week, our students are currently completing their Math assessments. These tests are designed to measure students’ understanding of key math concepts such as problem-solving, reasoning, and applying skills to real-world situations. Students may encounter a variety of question types, including multi-step problems, explanations of their thinking, and interactive tasks that require careful attention and perseverance.

We are encouraging students to approach the test with thoughtful strategies. Taking time to read each problem carefully, underlining or identifying important information, and checking their work can make a big difference. We also remind them that it’s okay to pause, take a deep breath, and reset if they feel stuck—sometimes stepping back for a moment helps the solution become clearer. Most importantly, we want them to trust the skills they have been building all year and to keep trying, even when problems feel challenging.
At home, your support is essential in helping students feel prepared and confident. Encouraging a steady routine, providing a quiet space for rest, and offering positive reassurance can help reduce any anxiety. Reminding your child that mistakes are part of learning and that persistence matters more than getting every answer right can help them stay motivated and focused.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students during this important time.

Warmly,
Ms. Holt

Students are practicing analyzing situations, considering multiple perspectives, and solving problems creatively. Critical thinking supports curiosity, independence, and decision-making skills.
When students think critically, they learn to approach challenges with confidence and creativity.
