We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is ready for another great week at Allegiance STEAM Academy.
We recently sent home information to families regarding the walking waiver. I want to share an important reminder regarding walking waivers as well as this week’s heat advisory and some campus activities.
🚶 Walking Waiver Reminder for Grades 4–8
All students in grades 4–8 who have a walking waiver on file will be dismissed from school at the end of the school day to walk off campus.
Students who have signed up for the walking waiver cannot be dismissed and remain on campus waiting for a parent/guardian. If your student picks up a sibling in grades 1-3, that student will remain in their classroom until their older sibling checks them out from the teacher.
The walking waiver confirms that families understand and have made arrangements for their student to leave campus at dismissal. As a reminder, the waiver states:
“I understand that my child must leave the Allegiance STEAM Academy (“School”) at the end of the school day, and is not allowed to remain on campus.”
If you mistakenly signed up for the walking waiver and would like your student to remain on campus in an air-conditioned classroom until you arrive, please send a ParentSquare message directly to your student’s teacher(s). This will allow the teacher to know that your student should remain in the classroom rather than being dismissed to walk off campus.
☀️ Heat Advisory This Week
There will be a heat advisory throughout the week, and we are taking precautions to help keep our Wolves safe and comfortable. Students may have lunch indoors as needed to help protect them from excessive heat. Please remember to send a water bottle with your student especially this week.
On Thursday, we would love to see families join us for coffee and donuts for the first Howling With the Community in the Den at 8:15.

As we settle into the first few weeks of school, students are learning new routines, building relationships, and discovering their place within our ASA community. We’re excited to introduce Thrive at Home: Building Strong Habits for Student Success, a new family resource designed to make that partnership easier.
Each month, Thrive at Home will explore one simple focus that can make a meaningful difference in your child’s success. Families will find a short audio overview, practical tips, helpful resources, conversation starters, and an easy-to-use family toolkit with ideas you can put into practice right away.

When students know they are valued, supported, and an important part of their school community, they are more likely to participate, persevere through challenges, and feel confident as learners. That sense of belonging grows even stronger when children experience consistent messages and support both at school and at home.
This month, we’re encouraging families to try a few simple habits:

Create predictable routines that help school days begin and end successfully.

Set family learning goals and talk about what you hope to accomplish together this year.

Practice growth mindset conversations that celebrate effort, strategies, mistakes, and progress.

Stay connected to school and show your child that their learning matters.
You don’t need to do everything at once. Choose one or two ideas that work for your family and start there. Small actions, practiced consistently, can have a powerful impact.

We’re excited to announce that sign-ups for our Extended Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) after-school clubs, sports, and tutoring are now open!
Whether you’re new to ASA or just need a quick refresher, here’s everything you need to know to get started.
🔍 Important Reminders
- This form indicates interest only and does not guarantee placement.
- Carefully review club days and grade-level eligibility to avoid scheduling conflicts or double-booking.
- Club descriptions, schedules, and grade-level information can be found here.
✅ How to Register
- Complete the Interest Form by Friday, August 28, 2026
- Begin by selecting the club from the options listed below.

One form per child is required. If you have multiple students interested, please complete separate forms for each.
- Selection Process
- Submissions will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Most clubs and sports accept between 10 to 30 students, depending on the activity.
- Priority is given to students not currently enrolled in any other ELOP activities.
- Confirmation & Next Steps
- Families will receive a notification via email by Tuesday, September 8, if their student has been selected.
- Selected students must have a signed waiver on file to finalize their participation. This waiver was part of the 2026-2027 online registration completed through your PowerSchool Parent Portal.
- Waitlisted students will also be notified via email.
- Once clubs begin, all further communication will come directly from the club advisor.

- 2:55 PM – School Dismissal
- 2:55 – 3:05 PM – Snack
- 3:05 – 4:05 PM – Club or Sports Time
- 4:05 PM – Dismissal
- Students enrolled in ASA’s after-school care program will return to care following their club or sport.

The Christian Club is a welcoming space for 1st–8th graders to connect and grow in faith. We meet once a month on Thursdays during ELOP time. All children in these grades are welcome.

We’re excited to invite families of students in 6th–8th grade to a virtual Spring Break Overnight Trips Parent Information Session to learn more about the unforgettable educational travel experiences we are exploring for our Wolves.

At ASA, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond the walls of the classroom. Our student travel experiences are designed to give Wolves opportunities to explore new environments, engage in hands-on learning, build independence, and make lasting memories alongside their classmates.

ASA families, completing the Universal Benefits Application (UBA) can help your child qualify for valuable benefits, including Summer EBT/SUN Bucks, internet access, school transportation, and more.
Your participation also helps Allegiance STEAM Academy qualify for grants and additional funding that directly support programs and services for our students. Completing the application does not affect your student’s ability to receive free school meals.
📅 Important SUN Bucks Deadline: To establish eligibility for California’s 2026 SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) benefit, families must submit the application by August 31, 2026. Applications for other purposes will continue to be accepted throughout the school year.
